My mom, age 79, her soon-to-be-husband and I walked the Great Glen this September/October. Not backpacked, but the walk itself was grand. We couldn't have managed backpacking it. The climb up above Drum and then the plummet down into it nearly did me in. Congratulations!

A great achievement for your Mum, I recently dragged my Mum up Ben Lomond at age of 65, and that was a challenge! Yes, the GGW is a nice one - nice, remote and unspoilt, but with quite a lot of rising and falling as you go over the spurs of the various lochs. Great you enjoyed it - Alan
