Hi
Firstly, I would like to say that your journal of the SUW is fantastic and really gives a clear idea of what to expect.
My friend and I completed the Coast to Coast (St Bees to Robin Hoods Bay) in 2007 and we are planning to do the Southern Upland Way in June / July 2009.
I was wondering how much water you carried daily while walking the SUW. I will be carrying 3 litres, as on the CtoC I had drunk about 1 1/2 to 2 litres a day and the three litres worked well.
Is it possible to not have to fill up from the river if I carry 3 litres? Do you think it is avoidable?
Many thanks in advance,
Lianne
